The pore diameters of the various sorbents range from 3 to 10.000 angstrom (1Ang. = 10 -7 mm). The grains are very porous. To give an example, we look at one liter Activated Alumina. One liternActivated Alumina weighs approximately 0.77 kg. That are about 50,000 grains and can adsorb ca.0,3 liters of moisture. When you calculate the external surface of 50.000 grains that could take you to approximately 1.5 m2. The internal surface will be much higher, namely 275 000 m2. Each adsorbent or desiccant has its specific characteristics which provide optimum performance. The Airgineers of D&F Techniek will tell you which product is suitable for your specific application.

Adsorbent - Research:
The desiccant will age over the years. This can have various causes. The important thing here is the right choice of the desiccant, but more important is the quality. Because of our high quality selection, our sorbents have almost a twice longer life time. If you have doubts about the quality of your sorbent, please contact us or send an adsorbent sample.
